Affordable Rental Insurance – Protection for Landlords and Tenants
Affordable Rental Insurance is a solution designed to complement the Affordable Rental Program (PAA), providing greater security for both landlords and tenants. As mandatory insurance for leases entered into under this program, its main objective is to reduce the risks associated with renting and provide greater stability throughout the term of the lease.
The Affordable Rental Program aims to increase the supply of housing at prices below market rates, promoting a balance between access to housing and the protection of the parties to the contract. Insurance is an essential component of this model, enabling a response to unforeseen circumstances that could affect the fulfillment of contractual obligations.
By providing financial protection for landlords and tenants, this insurance helps foster more stable and secure rental relationships.
Protection for Landlords and Property Owners
For landlords, one of the biggest challenges of renting is the possibility that tenants may default on rent payments due to unexpected events in their lives.
The Affordable Rent Insurance was developed to minimize this risk by guaranteeing rent payments in certain situations specified in the policy, such as death or temporary inability to work due to illness or accident.
This protection allows landlords to maintain greater financial stability and reduces the uncertainty associated with renting out properties, making the Affordable Rental Program a more attractive option for property owners.
In addition, the existence of this insurance helps build trust among the parties to the contract.
Greater security for tenants
Tenants also benefit directly from this solution. An involuntary loss of income can jeopardize their ability to pay rent, putting their housing stability at risk.
With this insurance, the tenant has additional protection that helps them deal with unexpected situations without immediately jeopardizing the lease agreement.
This financial security is particularly important during periods of job instability or in situations of temporary disability, providing greater peace of mind for the entire household.
Coverage for property damage
Another important feature of this insurance is the option to include coverage for damage to the property.
This guarantee can eliminate the need for a security deposit, offering the landlord an alternative means of protection against any damages that may occur during the lease term.
For the tenant, this option offers a significant advantage, as it reduces the initial amount required to enter into the lease, making it easier to access housing.
Insurance included in the Affordable Rental Program
The Affordable Rental Insurance is an integral part of the Affordable Rental Program, which was created to encourage an increase in the supply of rental housing at more affordable prices.
This program establishes specific criteria for both landlords and tenants, ensuring that leases meet certain legal and financial requirements.
By incorporating insurance into this model, the aim is to build confidence in the rental market and reduce the risks typically associated with long-term leases.

Who is Affordable Rent Insurance aimed at?
This is compulsory insurance for landlords and tenants who sign a rental contract through the Affordable Rental Program (PAA). Both must meet the following requirements:
