About R2 PROMIS

R2 PROMIS is a brand of R2 Seguros.

The name PROMIS comes from Latin and French, meaning "promise" – the true principle of insurance: the promise to protect and compensate in the event of claim. It is this commitment that underpins everything we do.

The brand's story begins with Sergio Magnani, an Italian with extensive experience in the insurance sector, and his wife Ester Magnani. They arrived in Portugal in 2000. After a few years working at Zurich, Sérgio founded his own insurance brokerage agency in Estoril, with a clear purpose: to offer an excellent service tailored to the specific needs of foreigners living in Portugal.

Ester joined this project in 2005. Together, they built a benchmark in the market, especially among the German, Swiss, and English communities. The agency was called PROMIS and had a visual identity marked by the color green.

Why green?

Green symbolizes hope, renewal, and safety —values that align with PROMIS' mission: to stand by our customers at all times, ensuring that even in the face of the unexpected, there is always a safe path forward.

After Sérgio's death in 2019, Ester decided to join R2 Seguros, ensuring the continuity of the legacy he had built. Thus, R2 PROMIS was born, a fusion of experience, trust, and innovation that continues to this day.

In Memory: Sérgio Magnani

Sérgio Magnani was born in 1965 in Piacenza, Italy. At the age of 20, he moved to Switzerland, where he began his career in the insurance sector. In 1999, he accepted the challenge of moving to Portugal, where he lived until 2019.

He was an active figure in the Swiss community and also distinguished himself as a photographer, holding several exhibitions of his work.

His dedication, humanity, and vision left a mark on everyone who knew him—and continue to inspire R2 PROMIS.
