Allianz Trade in Portugal is the successor to COSEC – Companhia de Seguro de Créditos, SA, a trusted pillar of the Portuguese insurance market that has stood out since its foundation in 1969 as a leader in the credit and surety insurance market, offering robust and secure solutions to companies across the country.
Euler Hermes SA became a shareholder in COSEC in 2004 and acquired 100% of the capital in 2023, further strengthening the relationship between these two entities. Both are part of the Allianz Group, operating under the unified Allianz Trade brand, which symbolizes a global standard of excellence in credit insurance services.
Since January 1, 2026, COSEC has been fully integrated into Euler Hermes SA, marking a strategic step toward optimizing operations and improving service delivery within the Allianz Group.
With this merger, COSEC's activities are now carried out by the Portuguese branch of Euler Hermes SA, under the legal name Euler Hermes SA – Sucursal em Portugal, while retaining the commercial brand name Allianz Trade in Portugal.
This integration reflects Allianz Trade's ongoing commitment to offering innovative and efficient solutions tailored to the needs of the Portuguese market.
