About Real Vida
Real Vida Seguros, S.A. was born in 1989, as part of a project started at the end of 1988, by a group of mostly northern shareholders who founded Real Seguros, S.A., setting up its headquarters in the city of Porto, with the aim of starting its activity in the insurance sector, specifically in non-life insurance. A year later, Real Vida Seguros, S.A. was founded, 100% owned by Real Seguros, S.A., with the aim of operating life insurance and capitalization products.
In 1999, Real Vida Seguros, S.A. changed its name to BPN Seguros de Vida, S.A., and became majority-owned by BPN - Banco Português de Negócios.
In the last quarter of 2003, a public deed was drawn up changing the name of BPN Seguros de Vida, S.A. to Real Vida Seguros, S.A., with the aim of grouping the two insurance companies under a single brand - "Real Seguros" - strengthening and solidifying their image. As a result of the nationalization process that took place in 2008, Real Vida Seguros and Real Seguros belonged to separate economic groups, and the respective separation process began in February 2009. On December 30, 2010, Real Vida was 100% owned by Parparticipadas, SGPS, S.A..
Real Vida Seguros, S.A. was acquired by Patris Investimentos on September 27, 2013. The Insurer then became part of a financial group specializing in asset management, savings management, investments and brokerage, and is an independent, solid, professional Portuguese insurance company focused on investment, savings, retirement and protection solutions and products.
