Allianz Travel Agency Liability Insurance was developed to protect travel and tourism agencies in the course of their business, ensuring coverage for civil liability required by law and providing assistance to customers whenever necessary.
Who is this insurance intended for?
The insurance is intended for:
- Travel and tourism agencies licensed by Turismo de Portugal;
- Branches and other forms of representation within the country;
- Branches of agencies headquartered in other European Union Member States and established in Portugal;
- Associations, charitable organizations, private institutions, and other entities exempt from registration with the RNAVT, provided they meet the legal requirements for the occasional organization of trips.
What does the Allianz Travel Agency Liability Insurance cover?
The insurance provides coverage for civil liability arising from the travel agency’s operations, protecting the insured against damages resulting from its actions or omissions, as well as those of its representatives or agents, in the course of its business.
This also includes customer assistance, specifically repatriation and assistance to the point of departure or arrival, as well as the provision of medical care and necessary medications in the event of an accident or illness.

The insurance covers the operations of travel agencies, including, among other things:
- Organization and sale of tourist trips;
- Accommodation reservation;
- Ticket sales and transportation reservations;
- Reception and assistance for tourists;
- Organization of conferences and events;

- Sale of guidebooks;
- Assistance with obtaining visas and travel documents.
Major Exclusions
Among the main exclusions are:
- Criminal, administrative, or disciplinary liability;
- Damages resulting from strikes by service providers;
- Damage caused by force majeure;
- Damages resulting from accidents involving third-party vehicles, provided that such vehicles are covered by the legally required insurance.
Some of these exclusions do not apply to Assistance coverage.
